Charlotte Paul
Associate Portfolio Manager, Assante Capital Management Ltd.
Charlotte Paul has spent more than two decades guiding people through some of life’s most complex financial decisions — but what truly defines her work isn’t the numbers. It’s the stories behind them.
She knows, firsthand, that money is never just about money. It’s about choices. It’s about dignity. It’s about the life you imagine for yourself and the people you love. And sometimes, it’s about finding the strength to start over.
Charlotte’s own story took a turn she never expected when she became a widow. In the middle of deep personal loss, she faced a financial landscape that felt overwhelming — and saw clearly how few places there were for women to turn for advice that was both expert and empathetic. That experience changed everything. It gave her a unique perspective on what women really need when it comes to building, protecting, and enjoying their wealth. It also ignited a mission that still fuels her work today: to give women the financial confidence they never thought they could have.
Over the years, Charlotte has built a practice that looks and feels different from the traditional advisory world. There’s no jargon, no condescension, no “just trust us” attitude. Instead, she meets clients where they are — whether they’re navigating the uncertainty of widowhood, rebuilding after a divorce, or managing wealth on their own terms — and helps them make decisions with clarity and confidence. She believes that when women truly understand their money, they see its power not just as a balance sheet, but as a tool to shape their futures, achieve their goals, and create the lives they envision.
Her approach is deeply personal and refreshingly practical. Charlotte listens before she advises. She helps clients connect their wealth to their values. And she builds strategies that are not just about growth, but about possibility — so that every dollar has a purpose and every decision moves them closer to the life they want to live.
Today, Charlotte works with women across Canada who are ready to take control of their financial stories. Many arrive feeling uncertain about where to start. They leave with a plan, a sense of empowerment, and often, a newfound belief in what’s possible. Because for Charlotte, success isn’t just measured in returns — it’s measured in confidence, in choices, and in dreams fulfilled.
Charlotte has been deeply involved in the charitable community in Vancouver, Toronto, and her hometown of Victoria, and has partnered with several charities across the country. She has also served as the Director on the Board of the Soaring Spirits, a charitable organization that creates resources and community for widowed Canadians.
She has been featured in numerous publications including The Globe and Mail and The Investment Executive and has also been recognized as one of Canada’s Top Under 40 by the Investment Industry Association of Canada in 2019. Charlotte holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Victoria and has her Chartered Investment Manager (CIM®) designation through the Canadian Securities Institute.
Charlotte was born and raised in Victoria, attended St. Michaels University School as a third-generation student, and went on to earn her undergraduate degree from the University of Victoria. Having moved to Vancouver upon graduation, and then to Toronto, she decided after eighteen years it was time to return home. Charlotte currently lives in the Songhees neighborhood of Victoria with her rambunctious bulldog puppy, Lulu.
